When Aunt actually moved, FIL and Husband both remember MIL destroying/throwing away every item or gift Aunt every got them.

So...yeah. This is not new behavior. It's just that times have changed and Friend is smart and strong enough to have shut that shit down as soon as she saw it starting.

insinuating that Aunt was a dangerous person. It ended up with several CPS visits.

When Aunt announced she was moving out of state MIL lost her shit and demanded that she leave her kids in Philly with MIL. She tried to get Aunt arrested for kidnapping OF HER OWN FUCKING KIDS.

and became weirdly focused on them. The youngest was an infant at the time and MIL kept offering to take them "for a weekend or longer," to "give Aunt some time."

She got insistant and when that didn't work she started reaching out to Aunt's husband and support system

They have an Aunt who MIL not only cut out of their lives but bullied to the point where she moved to California. Aunt said that she wasn't going to let her kids grow up around someone like MIL.

The one that stuck out to me was that MIL went to visit MIL's mother when Aunt was there with her kids

Update on Friend with New Baby!

It's not a tumor. (If you read that in a specific actor's voice, congratulations and don't forget to take your meds.)

She's always been like this. FIL and Husband told some stories and SIL, who wasn't there last night, has also been telling stories about childhood.

FIL and SIL are not covered by the PFA so they are the people MIL is expecting to get information from. I helped them both with a short grey rock sentence to make clear they aren't going to be flying monkeys for her.

I had a very long chat with FIL and SIL discussing masking and how we are inclined to make excuses for the people we love. And especially for parents who raised us. What we grown up thinking is normal is...you know, normal.

Even after the terms of the PFA were made clear, no contact of any kind with any of the family, MIL just glossed right over it and insisted she would gain custody of Baby. She claims the Priest is going to help her & he had all of the evidence. Guess what? He does not. FIL reached out to him after.

According to her, Baby is in danger and she is the only one who can keep Baby safe. She accused Friend of brain washing and/or drugging Husband to make him agree with the PFA. MIL reiterated that she planned to start a fire at Friend and Husband's house. She said this TO HER DOCTORS!

Update on Friend with New Baby:

She's going to be in the facility somewhat longer. According to FIL, who was there when they told MIL about the PFA, she had a full mental break. Not like the movies, with screaming and violence. The opposite direction. She got super calm and went into full denial.
