Happening now, around 100 protesters have gathered outside the ICE processing facility in Broadview, just west of Chicago.

The protest kicks off with live music from Songs for Liberation.

Illinois State Police just declared an unlawful assembly. Five minutes to disperse or arrests. The crowd is significantly smaller now, maybe 50 people.

I guess I'm confused why we even allow the police to declare an assembly unlawful.

If someone is committing a crime, then arrest them! Otherwise, what makes the assembly unlawful?
