As far as I can see, the penalties include hand-wringing, complaining, and very little else. Sounds like they can disregard the law with impunity.

Now I have to dig up the photos I've taken of wood storks. I love those birds, and the sound of their jaws closing when they snap up some food is something you really need to hear. Such beautiful birds, and I'm happy if their numbers are rebounding. I love watching them when they soar.

And, as we've seen, the courts are increasingly impotent to curb abusive, illegal, and unethical behavior by trump's minions. Violate a court order? Hand wringing by the judges. Disregard the Epstein disclosure law? Fretting and frowns from those who helped pass it.

This bill is nothing more than grandstanding and yet another distraction from stuff like ICE's Gestapo tactics, Epstein, and the increasingly deranged behavior of the Racist In Chief.

I've seen no one discuss that aspect. It seems hand-wringing and complaining are the two remedies most are choosing. Perhaps those are the only choices and the statute is toothless.

Maybe they can adopt flat fee rules for different zones within the muni. Other cities have implemented flat fees and the taxis are very competitive with the Lyft/Uber type rides, especially during peak demand periods.

And if you're not seeing SCOTUS for what it now is, you're ignoring what will happen when trump declares that the military and ICE will ensure that 2026 will have "fair" elections. The stage is set for an ugly November, aided and abetted by the most unethical, corrupt SCOTUS ever.
