Thank you to the organisers and congrats for your job!
Two weeks ago we had the pleasure to receive Prof. Juergen Schieber at the UGR for a promising collaboration. Stay tuned for future results...

A packed three-day program awaits all participants, with sessions and activities running from early morning until late in the evening: iasmeetinghuelva25.com/scientific-p...
Wishing you fruitful discussions and a wonderful time in Andalusia.
Brown sandstone surface with a whitish cylindrical object, about 10 millimeters wide and 15 centimeters long, weathering out of it; the object is a trace fossil of a ghost-shrimp burrow, which has millimeter-sized pellets on its exterior, and a series of meniscae β like parentheses β inside it, showing that the shrimp backfilled the burrow. A photo scale at the bottom is from the Paleontological Society, with icons representing a dinosaur skull, trilobite, and fern.

For #FossilFriday, a trace fossil showing multiple behaviors by its probable ghost-shrimp maker: first a burrow reinforced by pellets, then a backfill by the shrimp as it pushed sediment behind it. Seen in a Miocene (5-10 mya) sandstone in southern Spain. (cc: @ichnougr.bsky.social) π§ͺπͺ¨βοΈ #ichnology
13.06.2025 13:29 β π 15 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Organising the 18th International Ichnofabric Workshop was a long way, but it was fascinating hosting friends in our city, sharing science and doing some leisure activities as well.
It is always nice to meet this community and we are proud to be part of this.
THANK YOU!
On saturday we finished the 18th IIW with the second day of the post-meeting fieldtrip, visiting amazing shallow marine outcrops from AlmerΓa province (SE Spain).

On the last day of the International Ichnofabric Workshop in Granada, Spain last week, we had a raffle for students attending the meeting for a chance to win two of my books, 'Tracking the Golden Isles' & 'Life Sculpted.' Congrats to Sara & Alejandro, & happy reading! (cc: @ichnougr.bsky.social)

People standing in front of and looking at a light-brown sequence of sedimentary rocks (strata) exposed in a near-vertical 25-meter-high bluff. About 10 people are in the foreground, and 7 people are in the background along the same exposure.
A most excellent 2-day post-meeting field trip for the International Ichnofabric Workshop came to an end yesterday. We learned much about the Miocene-Pliocene age strata of southern Spain & their fascinating trace fossils made by shallow- & deep-marine animals. (cc: @ichnougr.bsky.social) π§ͺβοΈπͺ¨

Rope-like features protruding from a rock surface, all of which are natural casts of trilobite burrows, with fine scratches on their bottom surfaces caused by trilobitesβ legs moving sediment as they plowed down into an Early Ordovician sea floor: seen in south-central Spain.
Weβve started Day 4 of the International Ichnofabric Workshop in Granada, Spain, the day after a mid-meeting field trip. Highlight of the field trip? These incredible trilobite burrows in Early Ordovician (480 Mya) sandstone. π§ͺ cc: @ichnougr.bsky.social
