I guess it's the inability to distinguish the idea "there is one good aspect of what happened today" (Iran can't kill many American troops) from the idea "therefore this attack is good, yay!".
The funniest reply literally accused her of saying "high fives all around!".

Because apparently hundreds of Emily's and Sky's readers are already presupposing the inclusion of the "...And that's good." tag on every post.

Bluesky needs to force everyone to include a tag appended to each skeet, where they must choose either:
"...And that's good." or
"...And that's bad." or
"...And I'm not saying that's good or bad, literally just making an observation I thought was interesting to share."

At least the deadheading is mostly going in the less busy direction. On average.

(like everyone else I tell, they simply can't believe how negligently poorly designed the systems were before PTC was activated on this segment, relying instead on the driver noticing a little nearly invisible sign on the trackside in the rainy predawn dark to alert him to slow down from 70mph to 30

Does that make them move incredibly slowly or stop unnecessarily? Why not just use it to prevent the obvious derailments, like the deadly Amtrak Cascades derailment?
This was just on my mind as I told some friends about it when we rode through that S-curve yesterday.

This sounds like a very advanced tram. Could they not design a reasonable compromise program like geofenced speed limits? No tram should be permitted to speed up like that in that area, or approaching switches...

Whoa. WA and Oregon look bleak outside of the Seattle MSA and some hard to distinguish spots in western Oregon.

Yeah this is very dumb. We got really detailed post mortems breaking down how the shooting occurred. The shooter did not have a prolonged calm window to take the shot. He had been noticed and he knew he was out of time, so he took a couple of rushed shots.

Ahh one time I had a work event in Fremont and everyone was getting Ubers at the end (like 10pm on a Friday night) and it was like $50+ to West Seattle so I just hiked up to the stop before the aurora bridge and took this bad boy down to a C 🦁.
Really chill ride except they had the lights on bright

The next time I earn some star coins at the Lunch Rush side gig and then my kid blows them on the Level 4 Gacha machine which spits out a figurine we've already got in our collection... I'm calling on Tish James to nuke Kirby and the Forgotten Land for being an illegal gambling platform.

Gotcha, nice!
And I guess the advantages of trams include electric operation which means quieter and less polluting propulsion, and maybe lower-floor boarding.

In such narrow streets, I would fear and expect the streetcars to frequently be blocked by double-parked or just poorly parked private cars, like on H Street NE in DC, which would make them slower than buses.
Is that not a concern in Bologna? Maybe there are no private cars allowed on said streets?

If Trump has the authority to unilaterally demolish parts of the White House, is there anything to stop him demolishing the entire thing in 2028 if he loses the election?
The most likely thing to stop him would be his hope for another coup on 1/6/29.

Yeah wait how is vibe-coding going to solve this?
I mean I'd love to see some kind of price competition here but I don't think "writing code quickly" is the bottleneck.
