Bad news: no update on the 27th, because I’ve been procrastinating.
Good news: I’ve been procrastinating by doing concept art and learning to make environmental references in blender, which will improve the comic in the future.

I haven't! I've only ever shipped drawings for commissioners. My roommate has, though. Once I have a proof, I'd take pre-orders, then order as many as I need. I'd batch print shipping labels, then ship them out. Shipping would have to be extra, so I don't have a quote for a 14x22 print right now.

I draw the base illustrations on paper with graphite, then scan them (these are also available on patreon). Then, I do post processing digitally to shade larger areas, add atmospheric effects and enhance details, and then layout is also done digitally. About 60-80% of the work is traditional drawing

This is partly a reminder that full-res versions of this and all pages are on my Patreon for 2 bucks. I'm also thinking of making and selling a print run of just this illustration, when/if there's enough interest to make it worthwhile.

It is no surprise, then, that the ogratox tree is one of its favored land-lairs. Bola here walks without fear- if one were resident to the area, the demon would not have survived long enough to be caught by the corpsecarver.

Often scoured of their epiphytes and outer leaves, these blackened hulks may remain the sole thing standing amidst miles of ash and charcoal. For their size, shape, and obstinate defiance of fire, they are named for their semblance to the region's apex predator.

Among the most massive living things in all the Eastern Cuplands, ogratox trees are built to survive the tremendous blazes of the long Kunoese dry season, natural or cannymade. Huge lateral root systems push back more flammable trees, and yard-thick bark absorbs what flames lap at their extremities.

Bola, the protagonist of the comic Cascade, confronting Peter Griffin at his front door. She is drawn faithfully in the style of Family Guy, complete with her colors, which are ordinarily not seen. Her skin is a greyish tan, and her mane is a deep reddish brown. Peter Griffin looks shocked, while Bola has a slight and relaxed grin.

Looking likely that the update will be delayed until the 21st. Besides just having more time in the oven, I’d rather these pages come out when my hemisphere is awake. Thank you for your patience! Enjoy this in the meantime.

On the off chance anyone thinks I’m actually trying to tease Bola dying, memento mori is meant in the traditional sense here. I also just really like the way this panel illustration looks out of context.

Update forecast: actually going to be a 5 page update on January 1, and I'll aim for a further 8 on January 27th, which'll be the 1st anniversary of me starting page 1's illustrations. This is partly to avoid reinjuring my hand, which doing 4 pages' worth of illustrations in ~8 days came close to.

Reminding the good folks at home about my patreon- where there are high-res versions of comic pages and all the raw assets involved in its creation! Four more dollars and the google drive I use to store this will be paying for itself!

I’d like to re-up the content warnings for violence, body horror and general horror elements for this comic as a whole as established at the start of chapter 1. You can treat those as warnings for the comic overall. Except for the centipede, it’s not coming back anytime soon.

Taking steps to improve my efficiency with these next batches of pages. Current forecast is a 4 page mini-update by November 19th, and a further 8 or 9 by January 1, depending on how the holidays shake out.

A tumblr ask saying: “First, I want to say that I love your comic and hope to see more of it one day. Second just how tall is Bola?” The answer says: “Oh! Sorry, this slipped under my radar for several months! It depends on how you measure her- in her typical walking stance, the top of her head is normally about 6'1"(185cm) off the ground, but she's about 8'7"(252cm) standing fully upright. Her stance changes a lot as she moves, normally leaning forward and backward as she speeds up and slows down. The most consistent ways to measure her species are their length and their height at the top of their hip, which for Bola are 14'2"(432cm) and 4'7"(140cm) respectively. Thanks for asking, and I'm glad you enjoy the comic!”
