What's a sleep schedule?

I would like to thank all the staff and volunteers of @canfurence.bsky.social for this wonderful convention. Your work is seen, precious and appreciated. You are the ones making the magic happen.

All this to say: be kinder to con staff and people who help make these magical gatherings, happen. Remember: con staff do not get paid. They have full time jobs. Families. Other obligations. Yet they care enough to dedicate a good chunk of their free time to making magic happen.

In general, cons have to make a lot of logistic decisions behind the scenes to ensure that Shit Runs As Smoothly As Possible. And the people who criticize conventions the loudest on social media, probably have no inkling of what it truly takes to make a con happen.

The way some Very Online Furries treat con staff, especially social media people, is truly quite appalling. These are your fellow furries who are volunteering to relay con information in a fun and funny way. And they take the brunt of every decision people don’t agree with.

I was talking to a pal who helps run a con. He told me the con staff position with the highest turnaround? Social media lead.

You have to be creative! Funny! Good at making engaging posts!

And capable of handling kneejerk reactionary yelling and screaming from angry furries.

Fam, that sucks.
