Talk to people about your passion projects - listen to them talk about yours. Capitalism and scarcity mindsets constantly limit the boundaries of what we believe is possible, and it's so important reject boundary-making. You are world-making.

The nice thing about short stories is you don't have to commit - you can just read one of them at a time :D

Temporarily turning my office space into a chill out station for my kid's sleepover b-day party finally gave me the push I needed to FINISH cleaning this space up. It feels so much better now, and I knew it would, but getting the motivation was HARD.

Honestly these book lists are so dangerous - I've literally run out of bookshelf space. Okay so that was true years ago yet I keep going. And with stuff like this where it's not hugely mass-market, I sort of have this belief that I need to own it in person, new, to support the authors.

The Best Books You've Never Heard Of (Summer 2025)
Books don't always get the marketing budget they deserve. Here are nine of the best books you've (probably) never heard of.
Hahahaha, Buffalo is the New Buffalo made Book Riot's "The Best Books You've Never Heard Of" list:
Honestly, I'm flattered - this was such a weird project I sort of figured no one would ever read it beyond my thesis advisors.

I have very much retreated from the world over the past few weeks to work - and now that I'm self-employed I do find myself working harder than ever, but accomplishing so much more. It's been weird and exhausting but what I'm producing is blowing my mind.

Rounds and rounds of editing - never knowing if this time will be the last.
BUT the new edition of Indigenous Writes is just about ready for its 10-year anniversary! Exciting stuff :)

All this work is actually paying off omg. The Cree course is coming together in a really amazing way. I was aiming for 12 modules and I'm definitely not going to get there by the end of this month - but I think it's going to be enough to hopefully get more funding to keep going.

National Defence plans housing on contaminated sites | The Narwhal
As Canada increases military might, National Defence aims to solve its housing crunch by cleaning up sites containing PFAS, PCBs and other toxins
Facing a housing crunch, National Defence plans to build on bases across Canada. But, @leahbortskuperman.bsky.social reports, every one is contaminated with chemicals linked to cancer, heart issues and more. Can they be cleaned up enough to keep military families safe?

I just watched the movie Seeds, written, directed, and starred in by Kaniehtiio Horn and it's like...the perfect rez neechie revenge fantasy. Plus there were so many little things that were familiar and hilarious and probably only legible to neechies which I love.

Even if Albertans does manage to vote in the NDP and reverse course, we won't get anything from the Pharmacare program.

A promo image, it's a picture of my old house after my dad drove a bulldozer through it this summer. You can see the wreckage of the side of the house, and through it the grimy tiny little kitchen with its skylight - the subject of this story. The picture is labeled "The Roof" and then has my name and the link to my patreon, which is patreon.com/apihtawikosisan.
