One of the things that is under appreciated is that the "smart, strategic" politicians who will abandon someone you don't know on the theory that one has to win b4 power is useful is unintentionally admitting they are willing to hurt others to gain power for themselves - and that's not who we want.

Honestly I hope it's them ANYWAY.

TBH, I think part of it is boosting the volume of the snare hit at the same time as they changed the snare sound. I'd have to listen to them side-by-side to be absolutely sure, but I'm 99% that they upped the volume just to up the horror.

Interesting. I did some studies on BC/Canadian human rights law when I was in law school there & I think at the time the largest award was way less than $100k. $200k on the merits is huge from what I remember.

Yeah, the function and structure of the Human Rights Tribunals, combined with the injury to dignity clause, is IMO a great improvement on the limited causes of action in the USA.

(But 750k is the highest Award I've heard of - most are in the $1k to $10k range - and overlaps w traditional torts.)
