what’s ironic tho is i had SO many coworkers who ended up going into ECE despite the debt + the hourly pay cut because the limited # of hours in school-aged care meant that they’d actually make more per month as an ECE, even tho they’d still essentially be making a poverty wage

childcare workers are poorly paid across the board (i made $20/h in school-aged care) but ECEs have got it the worst by far cus they get the same garbage pay, same garbage benefits, but unlike nannies or school-aged workers, they literally have to go to college for it

I think once Mamdani is formally the winner of this race people will be more willing to admit it, but the truth is that the real issue isn't the lack of endorsement from Schumer and Jeffries, it's that Schumers, Jeffries, and everyone else has made racially charged unfulfillable demands of Mamdani.
