Still healing from the dentist (I’ve always healed slowly it’s annoying) so I am behind on a lot of stuff. I will probably watch the new Muppets Show special next week.

Gonna focus on catching up on some YouTube content and some Olympics coverage today.

I don’t want an AI podcast from PlayStation characters. That sounds lame af.

I really wish we could stop trying to force AI bullshit into every aspect of our lives.

Game #3 for the year is Brave. It’s better than I expected for a movie tie-in game but it’s still not great even by 2012 standards. The graphics weren’t great but the actress for Merida did come back to do the game which was a pleasant surprise. The gameplay and combat is alright.

I forgot to update this several days ago but game #2 for the year was Super Mario Bros.

I really enjoyed this. I had never played it before and had a great time with it. I did have to use the rewind feature some but that’s alright.

Yeah if anything seems likely to slip into next year it’s Gears. The only reason I could seem them pushing to get it out this year is to have it be part of Xbox’s 25th anniversary lineup.

Fable being listed for autumn is worrying. In any other year that would be the perfect time to put it out but Xbox has to think about GTA VI. There’s also the assumption that we are getting Halo and Gears: E-Day later this year. #DeveloperDirect

I don’t know that Kiln is for me but I love that Double Fine is still out here getting to create weird new games. You can’t say they aren’t original. #DeveloperDirect

Seeing Beast of Reincarnation looks really fascinating and it shows that Nintendo is not letting Game Freak use their full potential when it comes to Pokémon. #DeveloperDirect

The Forza games are always gorgeous and Forza Horizon 6 looks like it’s going to be a fun time.

I’ve never been a racing game person but I’ve always been tempted to check out the Horizon games. They seem more fun than the standard Forza games. #DeveloperDirect

Guys there is no secret Stranger Things episode coming.

Like I could see us maybe getting extended episodes somewhere down the line so Netflix can milk this a little longer but there’s not going to be anything that drastically changes the narrative or ending of the show.

The first game of 2026 is done! I wanted to replay Halo’s campaign before the remake comes out later this year.

It’s showing its age in places, particularly with the vehicles but otherwise it holds up pretty well and is a lot of fun.

Kicking off my gaming year with a replay of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. I figured I’d replay that before we get Campaign Evolved later this year.

This all ties back into the decline of literacy and critical thinking skills.

TV shows and movies used to not have to literally spell out plot points and character motivations. Filmmakers were able to trust the audience to fill in the pieces and make the connections themselves.

I’m not engaging with the #StrangerThings discourse. There are legitimate criticisms about season 5 & the series as a whole but a lot of it is just people not understanding character development, plot structure, & the “hero’s journey” formula.

The only thing more insane than the Erika Kirk grief grift tour is setting up a photo op replica of the booth where her husband was very publicly assassinated just a few months ago.

Honestly shocked he decided to come back at all for this season. It seems like his career is ready to take off and the schedule required to do SNL every week would just be holding him back at this point.
