That is sort of the point of a series, but if you read start to finish you can see the evolution of the characters, their motivations and the themes. It's formulaic but not static.

Same same for me! I didn't realize how well they were written untill I became an author myself.

Re-reading some classic John D. Mcdonald. Travis Mcgee. These were written from 1964 to 1984. I haven't read them in 25 years. The man influenced every modern thriller writer from Elmore Leonard to Lee Childs and I didn't realize it but me too! #booksky #writingcommunity
