Slow cookers are great because you can start it and then just forget about it.

The problem is, sometimes you really, literally, forget about it, and suddenly you're eating dinner at 9:00

A song labeled as "instrumental version" just came up in my music library, and the very first thing you hear in the song is vocals.

I understand it means no lead vocals, but I love the implication that backing vocals are an instrument

The fact that AI people choose to generate code in a human-friendly language like python shows that, deep down, they don't trust the results.

If you really thought human intervention wasn't needed, you'd code everything in something performant like C or assembly.

There are things I do to avoid crying while chopping onions. They work pretty well.

I may have to give up my claim to the title of "worst gardener in the world". Not long ago, my mint plant had all its leaves shrivel up and get all crumbly.

Now there's a bunch of new sprigs sprouting up with nice, healthy leaves. I might not be a good gardener, but at least I can't kill mint.

Every once in a while I'll log in to my facebook account to see the slowly growing list of friend requests that are never going to get a response

The lovely thing about making a recipe that calls for "1 cup of beer" is that 1 can / bottle contains more than a cup and you can just drink the rest

Cooking tip:

When turning off a slow-cooker (or switching to the "keep warm" setting), make sure you don't accidentally set it to "high" and cook your leftovers for another 2 hours
