Hi! Great honor to share that my album Pohreb has been nominated for the Radio_Head Awards in the category of Experimental Music. It is also nominated alongside widely respected musicians. The winner will be announced on March 27 at the Slovak Radio. Thank you to everyone who stands behind this!

Hi! Presenting: WORLD IS DOUBLED 2026

This is, let’s call it, a tour with two fujaras for two lungs and two ears, across Slovakia and the Czechia (or simply put: mainly Bratislava and Prague). It follows the Funeral tour and serves as a preview of upcoming musical works (hehe). I consider myself a numbers person, even though I’m not skilled at mathematics: I remember dates, and I compose elements in pairs so that the center is not an element itself, but exists between two elements and their multiples. Now I carry two two-meter fujaras like my cross, also a drowsy instrument, through these places:

4.2. (today) Mestské Divadlo Žilina, Čitáreň, 18:00
12.2. ???, Bratislava, ???
22.2. Punctum, Prague
12.3. Nová Cvernovka, Bratislava, 20:00
14.3. Kino Družba, Trenčín, 19:00
19.3. Pragovka, Prague, 19:00
8.4. ???, Bratislava, ???
24./25.4. Sharpe Festival, NC, Bratislava

Week ago, my first small EU tour came to an end - low-cost bus excursion with two-meter-long whistle! 16 concerts + 3 added along the way, 8 countries, 9,800 kilometers, 140 hours on buses (occasionally on trains), 722 minutes played and listened to by you, and 190 minutes of my talking before the concerts (for which I apologize, haha).

I can’t express enough gratitude to everyone who: 1) helped me carefully make this happen, 2) played together with us, 3) came to the concerts to listen and meet, 4) supported me on the road by buying my physical releases, drawings, or prints. Last but not least, thank you to all the cultural spaces and sound engineers who managed to turn an unamplifiable two-meter stick into a solid instrument.

I met many wonderful people and discovered amazing cultural spaces; several beautiful friendships were formed, and I wish you all the best. Without the incredible Jakub Juhás and Karola Ainsar, Pohreb might not have made it this far - and it could have ended up as just a wake. Thank you for your trust.

Today is a special day, because after almost three years of drawing every single day into a randomly found translation dictionary from the 1960s, I have finished drawing it entirely. 828 pages. Every day. I called it “ník (eng. ary),” and it was with me everywhere. Thousands of kilometers of travel. Several storms survived (freezing, burning). All the fundamental pains and joys of that time.

If you met me, you very likely met it as well, and had the chance to flip through it. I will not present it in digital form, like much of my visual work. However, it is available to be leafed through whenever you ask for it. Physically.

At the moment I’m writing from a bus on the way to Hamburg. And I have with me the exact same dictionary, but blank. Part 2 begins today and foreshadows a winter hibernation!

I feel blessed to write about a finished work - a vision from an imaginary world I once shared only with dear Karola, while walking through the unfinished Tondi station in Tallinn. It was early winter, exactly like the one in her painting for the album cover.

The album is dedicated to my grandparents, Mária and Marián Gajdoš, my great-grandparents, Štefan and Emília Bobek, and more broadly, to all (grand)parents.

It was created continuously over 19 months, carried through 168 emails (Jakub surely holds a Nobel Prize for patience), and distilled from 120 minutes of music down to the present 39.

Though its theme - the funeral of childhood and the old world - is deeply personal, the album is, in contrast, beautifully collaborative. You can hear pieces made with my brother Oliver Hronský, with the inspiring Adela Mede, and with the wonderful Viliam Solovic. Adam Badí Donoval’s field recordings, taken straight from his backpack, close the album.

The album began in Estonia in November 2023, following the sonic and conceptual thread of Closures - previous album I was gratefully “pushed into” by Adam Badí Donoval. Without Kristián Mikulovský or Andrej Zelman, I might never have released anything at all - so, in the end, everything makes sense. (Endless thanks - you’re the best <34.)

❈❈❈❈ ● Sunday, November 2 ● 6:00 PM ● Byt 11 (Legerova 8, Prague 2) ● Voluntary admission

This Sunday evening in Prague, the number of November and Byt (apartment) eleven will be divided by four - just like the four seasons, the four cardinal directions, the four elements, or the four rivers of paradise (Genesis 2:10-14).

As it’s said, the eleventh number crosses the boundary of perfection into disorder. So bring along a cushion, blanket, or even a pillow, and enjoy these symbolic quartets in a circle of friendship and community beneath the stars.

There’s hardly a need for introductions when, in the current Czech-Slovak scene, the names Debora Ruth, Dorkas Jandová, Michal Vaľko (Line Gate), or Richard Hronský are mentioned. Each act draws upon instruments of the old world and, in the synchronized dampness of these autumn days, sends us into imaginary fields and attics - together bidding the sun farewell beyond the edge of the world.

“From Monday, September 22, to Tuesday, September 23, the weather in Bratislava cooled down from thirty degrees to eighteen, so I didn’t go out anymore. In Prague, on the other hand, it had already happened from Sunday, September 21, to Monday, September 22. Then I got an invitation - apparently there will be some playing in Bratislava. And supposedly people are coming from Prague, too. The holidays are already over, school has begun, so I’ll treat myself to a bit of relaxation, some contemporary music, a campfire, and interspecies togetherness in a forest-type environment.
I’m climbing uphill - no longer in the heat, but in the autumn’s randomized dreariness, in parallel with an Indian summer. Although nothing is guaranteed today, I know it will be good here: safe, experimental, ambient, post-folk, perhaps even cold - so I’ll adjust accordingly.
I was here before as well, back in August, and it was great, only it took them terribly long to get the sound ready, so I had to wait quite a while. Well, what can you do.
- once again, someone who’s coming.”

• Sheepgaze [Dorkas Jandová + Debora Ruth] (cello, elderberry shepherds’ flutes, fujara, jaw harps, ash keys, vocals - experimental, minimal, pastoral)
• Pancage (electronics, instruments - electronic experimental ambient, pohodka)
• Vrtačky po desáté hodině (bagpipes, fujara - shepherd ambient)
• Slavo Krekovič (electronics – algo-rhythmic mumbo-jumbo)
• Tomas Pristiak (field recordings, computer - songs about the great outdoors)
• Švondrlinys (signal whistle - it really can’t be described, but we’ll listen to it)
• secret guest(s?)

I can scarcely believe the honor of closing the summer whistling season beside the Western Carpathians, mountains I once traversed from Romania seven centuries ago. My whistle will speak of genocides, of migration, of inequality, and of the burden of an aching back. I will not raise my voice in anger, but quietly lament all of this. To all who find themselves along this path, I extend an invitation: come listen, and together let us be grateful for the (hopefully not final) fragments of silence in a world still good.

Since October, I’ve found myself in strange and interesting personal states, in strong friendships and deep connections, in artistic and musical situations, in long nights of playing music on terraces, painting on and beneath the streets, taking part in projects, being active in the city - as well as in solitude, mourning, and heartache. I accept all of it fully, because there must be a good reason it’s happening.

I’m grateful for all the friendships, knowledge, activities, conversations, interactions, journeys, concerts, and for the renewed moments of contemplation in the Greek region of Zagori. A special place in my heart belongs to the group Athens Tunnel Dwellers, organizing musical interventions in the city’s underground tunnels - these became a part of my routine. Of course, I’m generalizing - otherwise I’d be writing forever - but it’s an honor to share a small piece from my diary.

Had I known everything that would unfold, I would have wanted to go just as much as I wouldn’t have.

Thank you to all the friends who shared this time with me - for all the closeness and support. Thank you to the professors and coordinators from both the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and the Athens School of Fine Arts - for all the guidance, help and support.

Greek world, I’m saying goodbye - for now. Γεια σου Ελλάδα, σε ευχαριστώ!

A year ago, I received confirmation that Athens would become my home for the following year. This home has taken much from me and given even more. I was foolish to think some things were for granted - yet things I hadn’t even imagined would happen, appeared in my life. (continuing in alt txt)

As is tradition, the hatch to the mining site opens the day before the gathering inside. And if it so happens that we meet, it means we are all in the right place.

Sometimes I feel that the often-quoted land beyond the mirror is, in reality, at a crossroads of worlds in the Middle Earth. Underground. A gentle, quiet wind blows there - and this Sunday, it will be a band of whistlers, sonic alchemists, and noise brewers drifting through these tubes.

We’ve mentioned before: “We are interested in exploring shared sonic encounters in such circumstances, and the presence of timelessness on the anti-axis of the continuum. We cordially invite you to be witnesses, listeners, or recorders.” - and so once again, we invite you. This time truly inside, down below.

- Foteini Korre (ney, pedals - ambient)
- Tefra90 (wooden flutes - acoustic)
- Yorgas Helmet (synths, voice - noise)
- Kostis Mikroulis (tsambouna, albanian double-flute cylja dyjare - acoustic)
- Richard Hronský (fujara, cylja dyjare - acoustic)
- Ara XD (experimental electronic pop - electroacoustic)
- Luis Karl Börje (voice, lullabies - acoustic)
- Lili1 (guitar, drums, pedals - psychedelic folk)

Στρατα (Lat. alphabet: Strata), from translation "layers", is a sound piece for Rezoné that serves as a lament for non-existent certainties. A frozen panorama of polyphonic resonances, ambiences, processed fujara and Albanian double flute (cylja dyjare) imitates liberation from "borders". Selected recordings from my backpack from spoken audio diaries, field recordings of Epirus' Zagori region (northern Greece, near the Albanian border), to Greek Byzantine Easter chants—surround a composition inspired by slow mourning songs called miroloi (Greek: μοιρολόι) from the Epirus region. The piece was created between April and May 2025, across the Zagori village of Tsepelovo, Athens, and the island of Hydra.
