Nottingham Forest Season Card holder. Work in IT. It's boring but it pays the bills, but also prevents me spending more time surrounded by nature, taking pictures. If you didn't photograph it, why did you bother going?

Far from being wild, these ponies are owned by a group of farmers, known as βcommonersβ.
Commoning began on the Long Mynd over 2000 years ago and there is written evidence of organised management from the 13th century.

29.11.2025 23:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Conventional wisdom says to avoid astrophotography during a full moon. Whilst it doesn't give the best the view of the night sky, I love the way the moon lights up the countryside.
But for the stars, this view of The Long Mynd in Shropshire almost looks like it was shot in daylight.

This cross at Balmerino Abbey, Fife, Scotland, marks the location of the High Altar, a central point of worship and spiritual significance.
It is also the burial site in 1233 of Queen Ermengarde, the abbey's founder, consort of William the Lion and mother of Alexander II.

The Sweet Chestnut (or Spanish Chestnut) at Balmerino Abbey in Scotland was rumoured to have been planted by Queen Ermengarde in the 13th century.
However, more recently it has been dated to around 450 years old, which still makes it the oldest tree in Fife.
