I have worked for 44 years to save animals from the brutality of humans. It has been a long struggle full of love & compassion.

I am a quiet recluse, my life is fulfilled through the books I write, but my voice & words will always be used to help all our precious animal friends.

When we touch a life, we become part of that life, which is why it's important to be with animals. Being part of their lives, even if it's not close up, means we have greater empathy for them. Love and empathy mean understanding. And if we understand animals, we rarely harm them.

Meat displays in supermarkets are designed to mask the horrors of the animal gas chambers and killing floors.

Humans have managed to develop ways to poison our planet and every species living here. Pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, baits, climate change, agri-chemicals; nothing seems too much. If we stopped poisoning our world it would become a beautiful place for all.

Which only goes to prove, yet again, that all knuckle-dragging bullies are abject cowards.
