I can see how a Guinness flavor chip theoretically could work, but western chip flavoring is just decades behind what they're doing in east Asia and the beer flavor chips from there are still iffy at best.

Scented Grilled Ribs flavor Lay's chips

first up is Scented Grilled Ribs flavor. a nice shallow ruffle with a very mild but pleasant flavor. best described as if you had chips in a takeout of ribs and they soaked up the scent on the ride home. pleasant, but I really wanted it to be stronger

Spicy Hot Pot (there are a lot of hot pot flavor varients but Spicy Hot Pot is the best) was an early fave, but Boat Noodles grew on me a lot with subsequent tastings. Probably a dead heat between those two.

after a few playthroughs of slay the spire 2, i'm ready to call it: we have another Good video game. this brings the total number of Good video games in the world to two, joining the original slay the spire

there's obviously a tradeoff in that you miss ~10% of shots, which could be a Good One, and you burn through memory card space and battery faster, but they're cheap and reliable for this approach

this is a self critique, my love. I understand I was in error

the problem with a lightning trigger is even an ideal response time won't catch most of the early leaders, those faint branching blue tendrils. if you just want the big bolts that's fine, but the full structure is what makes it so fascinating to me

also have a few spare batteries charged up ready to go. you spend a lot of time sitting in a chair on your phone while this happens making sure it's still going, occasionally reframing as the storm shifts. then you spend an hour deleting shots with nothing in them and posting good ones online

ideally you want lowest/native ISO for noise reduction and a sheltered shooting location to not worry about rain and being struck by lightning. also a long and active storm since the first 10 minutes or so of heavy activity you'll be adjusting settings dialing in settings for the conditions

for whatever lens used look up an MTF chart and set the f-stop on the narrow side of the crispness sweet spot, dial down ISO as needed to not have the exposure blow out too much for close strikes (trial and error). it's a balancing act between exposure quality and capture:gap time to not miss stuff

fuji x-t3 with whatever lens makes sense for the patch of sky I'm working with, wider is better. camera is on a sturdy tripod. intervalometer (I use a Pixel TW-283 remote/receiver setup) set for 10s exposures with 1s repeat gaps (to let the camera process the capture)
