Spacebar supports webp but does not re-encode gifs as webps rn

Honestly there aren't any good decentralized platforms that actually do what discord does rn.

Well the big thing is what you want to see in a discord replacer.

This is a pretty frequent thing, the devs also break the aGPLv3 and have multiple propritary parts of the stack

Oh, here you go for Stoats response, look at the edit history of the main comment and whatnot, they were talking about how they wanted to use AI for "what they excel at".

This account is much older than a few days old, it might be close to a year. and source for my claim blog.fluxer.app/how-i-built-...

They at first were saying they were ok with AI code even with people saying it was a deal breaker, the only reason they went back on it was cause of a large ammount of backlash

19.02.2026 15:51 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Assuming what was removed was all there was. Though even if they don't anymore, the amount of pressure that had to be applied before they'd go back on it isn't a great look tbh

How I built Fluxer, a Discord-like chat app Fluxer is a free and open source instant messaging and VoIP platform built for friends, groups, and communities.

they say so in their blog lol blog.fluxer.app/how-i-built-...

I'm not mad at you, t'was just informing you.

(also just to clarify, I don't like twitter-like social medias all too much, I'm just on here due to confused people about other projects who just ask the void their questions instead of coming to the matrix/discord/whatever to ask us dirrectly, so I also searched about fluxer)

(e2ee means no one outside the call can snoop, including discord, which is a very good thing, I guess older browsers just can't handle it for some reason)

19.02.2026 08:18 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm like 90% sure that's something about e2ee WebRTC calls. This isn't actually a bad thing I don't think.

I really don't like Stoat, it kinda really sucks.(less for technical reasons and more for org reasons) But you can't be taking a stand against Stoats usage of AI then talk about Fluxer, a platform that uses AI more explicitly.

19.02.2026 08:16 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Fluxer also uses AI :P

19.02.2026 08:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Fluxer uses AI according to their blog post :P

19.02.2026 08:10 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I don't like stoat :3
They have other issues. (more organizational rn)
I really just don't like AI :P

19.02.2026 08:09 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Fluxer does have a policy according to their blog "You're welcome to use LLMs as a tool for automating mechanical work. We don't ask you to disclose this..."

19.02.2026 08:08 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They also use AI, more than Stoat does now.

19.02.2026 08:07 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They weren't responsive, it took quite a bit of backlash to make that happen. And fluxer just uses AI according to their blog post.

19.02.2026 08:06 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Stoat was pretty tame when it came to AI use, it was 2 instances, and at least they ban it now. Fluxer doesn't ban nor disclose AI use, so hard to say how much there is. saying stuff like "You're welcome to use LLMs as a tool for automating mechanical work. We don't ask you to disclose this..."

19.02.2026 08:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They said they accept AI pulls without AI disclosure, and that they're used for "for mechanical implementation work when I already have a detailed spec" which mind you can mean most of the project given the spec is defined by someone else.

19.02.2026 08:03 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

squashed git history makes that super hard

19.02.2026 08:00 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

If you have issues with AI, fluxer is worse than stoat, they say they use AI in their blog post.

19.02.2026 07:59 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I have some bad news for you, fluxer also uses AI, they say as much in their blog post. At least Stoat with the backlash backtracked on it.

19.02.2026 07:58 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

who would've thunk, a product made with AI attracts AI pulls

19.02.2026 07:56 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Fluxer also uses AI according to their blog post.
