I still maintain that awards should have tiers that you are excluded from if you win higher awards.

Win GOTY? Well then of course you’re also the best role playing game and indie game and debut indie game and so on, but let’s maybe highlight some other people’s work too.

I still think of that one cancelled Unity game mod… thing that synced people’s play sessions so that your friend appeared as a little floating bot in your game.
