Food insecurity continues into the holidays in Juneau Juneau’s chapter of St. Vincent de Paul is delivering the baskets this Saturday to anyone who applies, with the help of 60 volunteers.

A local Juneau nonprofit is seeing a 20% rise in the number of people requesting Thanksgiving food baskets this year. And there’s still time to request one.

It’s great to see restaurants and businesses supporting our community with food bags too. Love seeing full donation bins and so much support for one another.

I had a hard time donating food in Douglas, no response from pantries, so ended up driving out to the food bank and tetrised my bags of food into the already almost full bin💜

Since then I’ve seen lots of local places collecting food as drop off locations. Juneau Urgent Care, the city museum, IDEA.

While pizza dough IS really easy and fun, if you need it to be a fast meal you won't have time for the rise. I have found most grocery stores also carry bags of pizza dough in the deli that cost less than the tubes.
