The first three main layers of this deeply personal and dark piece are completed. I've had a lot of feelings leading up to and during the creation process. There are 6 more layers to go before assembly, not including a number of sub-layers, so I'll be sitting with this piece for a while longer yet.😅

Let's put some more art out into the world and folks' feeds with another throwback to one of my literature inspired pieces. This one is based on "Le Petit Prince". I, too, feel like I just want to fly away from the current world at times. Do you have any comfort stories you keep going back to?

Throwback to "The Old Ways". This was my first large format piece at 18x24". I would love the chance to explore a mangrove forest at some point. The contrast between warm and cool colors in the lights is also wonderfully striking.

I'm working on the third main layer of this piece and it's proving to be rather complex with some additional direct layering work. Just look at the tiny details in the skulls! I did this to me. 😅

Throwback to 2017 when I was playing around with a kelp forest mermaid! I love how my previous studies in ecology, environmentalism, and natural resource management has influenced my work.

We just installed @SophieYunLee 's work in the studio yesterday and will be hosting an opening reception for her work next Saturday, September 13th from 1-7pm. Light refreshments will be provided and Sophie will be in the studio to hang out and chat with you all from 1:30-4:30pm!

The last three gold foil prints of the Mythological Equine series (Hippocampus, Kelpie, and Thunder Horse) are finally done! Individual prints and full sets of the series are available! It took so long and a ton of work documenting and editing, but I'm so happy and proud that it is finally complete.

Speechless and A Glorious Dawn will be on display at The Fishbowl gallery in Seattle for their September group show, Ephemerality! I adore how these two pieces are especially transformative depending on the lighting conditions. I feel so honored to be a part of the show.

I've been making and restocking laser cut editions recently, and Maggie has been a delightful little helper!

OMG! Roots won Judges' Choice Best in Show at Seattle World Con this last week! I'm absolutely floored and so grateful to everyone for all of your love and support. The Art Show was jam packed with absolutely incredible artists, and I feel so honored that I got to show my work alongside them.

Take a peek at *some* of the insane details in "Doomfish"! This piece took me about 2.5months of work to finally complete and I love how it turned out! These lines were all so thin!

Lol. Thank you! And yes. Hands are ok. Giving them a bit of a break for a few days.

The gold edging for the Oarfish is finally, finally done! *Collapses* Next steps are background embellishment and burnishing for that beautiful shine! ✨

People at shows ask about my apparent patience, but it's funny because I'm not actually that patient! I just power through with sheer determination to finish whatever project I'm working on! It gets frustrating, but for now, I'm going to channel "Stillness" and just keep chipping away at my oarfish.

I've been gilding edges on the Oarfish all week! I'm still nowhere near done. It's a slow, grueling process that relies on extreme precision, but the result is *chef's kiss"! 😘

I have a number of sketches just waiting in the wings once the Oarfish piece is finally finished!

The shell gold gilding process of the Oarfish has begun! There are so many details and fine lines. It's going to take forever to complete, but I think it will be gorgeous when it's done!
