The summer chanterelles are here, and the angry summer hornets are out for blood. So swollen and ouchy! Didn’t stop me from foraging all day, full of Benadryl and going slow. 🥴
The ground hornets are so hard to spot on uneven forest terrain.

Made a sweet little friend while huckleberry picking in the mtns the other day. I’m guessing it’s a fritillary of some sort! It danced all over my shoulder & then hung out on my 🫐 stained finger for a while before fluttering up into a Doug fir.

Had a nice mountain field trip the other day.
It was perfect slice of happiness between painting in the studio and never ending house chores/projects.
The mountain always brings me inspiration 🙂
Plus I’m now like 10,000 huckleberries richer 🫐😬

Meadow forget-me-not are an adorable addition to any high elevation meadow. Spotted a sea of these friends at a meadow edge, taking in the sun & swaying gently in the breeze. 🌸🥹
