I want to hear and support new metal, but it's like you said, I'll listen to too many new albums and none of them stand out. For me, the balance is to listen to new stuff on the weekend, grab whatever gets stuck in my head, then listen to the albums I love during the week.

Somehow that looks like burritos and meatball subs at the same time, and I would eat it.

Time to get creative then. I suggest a multi-pocket fishing vest paired with booty shorts. Stylish and practical.
