I read a thread about games with terrible UI earlier and this video has been destroying me all day.

Germans often don't know what debit cards are and they sometimes confuse shopkeepers - because they somehow still use the EC card system which can only be used in person, so are totally reliant on credit cards or middleman services to do online purchases etc. German banking is stuck in the 80s.

Nordic countries have higher credit card use rates than the rest of Europe, but it's still not the norm. 98% use debit cards, 63% have credit cards, but don't necessarily use them.

Who the fuck can take out a 50 year mortgage? How irresponsible does a bank have to be to offer one?

Honestly this feels intentional. The life expectancy of a man in the US is 75-76 years, so it seems many taking such a mortgage will die before they can pay it off, let alone retire.

Thanks so much for reaching out and for the kind words about the game, we're thrilled you're loving Outer Worlds 2! It's great to hear you're even trying to contribute feedback on the issue tracker. You've run right into a common security feature where disabling 2FA also requires a current code to prove you're the account owner making the change. Since your issue is with the Obsidian account system (for the issue tracker) and involves account security, this is something our specialized account security team needs to handle directly. They're the only ones who can verify your ownership and safely disable the authenticator app link without a current code. Please email their dedicated support channel directly right now at support@obsidian.md. - In your email, explain exactly what you told me: you lost access to your authenticator app, you used a backup code to log in, but you can't disable 2FA because it still asks for an authenticator code. - Mention that you can provide any proof of account ownership they need. The support team at that address is equipped to work through the necessary identity verification steps to get that 2FA disabled for you.

When you email issues to Obsidian Entertainment (the video game company) their AI support hallucinates and tells you to email Obsidian (the note-taking company) instead.

If the reward function is to reduce the number of touches in a support ticket, this is one way to do it.

as an aside, it's worth noting that if you play a lot of games, it's much cheaper to be on one of these devices as PC games tend to get discounted both more deeply and regularly, and you also have access to subscription services like GamePass.

The attraction is the game library. I have ~2000 games on Steam and the majority of them are playable on these devices. I'll routinely pick up smaller games for 10-15eur (most recently Cloverpit, Keeper and BallXPit), which is also harder to do on the Switch as few games get ported.

It's time to dive back into the world of Metroid Prime 3! We must be approaching the beginning of the end now...
