To be clear I don’t think they NEED to do this to be successful - but “successful” and “we’re replacing Xbox with this” are two separate things. (Even if it sort of wins that by default no matter how many it sells lmao)

While the Deck has done well, it has done well “for only selling on Steam itself.” Like. Not even out of the single digit million realm, from every estimation I’ve seen.

It needs to sell to a larger mainstream and be in the public consciousness if its gonna punch any higher than that.

I mean you’d have thought that for the Deck by this point - especially as their competitors are sold at stores - but that has never panned out in at least NA.

I feel like to really do that they need to get the Machine sold outside Steam itself. I feel like that limits their sales potential a lot.
