Artists that set their music as ads on YouTube are all awful and deserve nothing. Artificially inflating your listener count in this way will never make me want to seek out your music.

From what I do know, the field is rendered from one side to another, loaded/unloaded from the tiny buffer a PS1 had for memory. I think the approach taken by modders is to create a mask later above the game. Better explanation tion via this site I think www.reshdp.com/re2/

Alot of PS1 era pre rendered backgrounds are rendered like this. The original efforts to "fix" RE2 demonstrated this, showing seams when the individual tiles were up-rezzed. You might do well be seeing what the team behind the seamless HD mod did via dolphin.
