I’ve really enjoyed spending a couple of days at the very friendly Surrey History Centre looking at the Broadwood Piano archives. Researching Broadwood’s trade to British colonies. Also saw some lovely piano designs.

Enjoyed a couple of days at the Pitt Rivers Museum and Ashmolean Museum archives. Trying to track down the histories of their collections of Indian instruments donated by SM Tagore.

Yes, I think thought it was very exciting! It was just a little shop off La Rambla with mostly sheet music and biographies plus a few more scholarly ones like yours.

Some of the instruments on display in the South Asian gallery were donated in the C19th by collectors Carl Engel and Sourindro Mohun Tagore. But this is only a v small part of the collection, most of which is in storage.
