I regret not putting any work on this deck during this standard season, it speaks to me on so many levels. Good luck with your event, it looks like you are crushing it once againπ«‘

Split the modern challenge on stream today with my trusty Neobubu ππ€ Congrats to Jumba π«‘
I haven't streamed in a long time, it was fun to yap and share some gameplay!
@fireshoes.bsky.social
Long day at the office today:
2-2 drop limited qualifier π
9th legacy challenge with the Epic Storm π©οΈ
9th in the vintage challenge with Doomsday Lurrus π±
2nd in the modern challenge with Neoform π¦
26 rounds of magic today, most of them double queueing. I'm tired but satisfied π«‘
I want to talk about the format that exists and we currently play matches in rather than hypothetical ban list scenarios

I watched this movie last year for the first time and it haunted me for months. It's a shame that it was marketed as a gory movie, because it has so much more to offer!
Garance's acting is so good btw
I played 3 modern challenges this week and I made it to the finals all three times (win, split, split !) π¦π
I've been thinking a lot about neobrand, so I decided to write a guide before the RCQ season starts. It should be out in a few weeks, I have a lot to say π€

This deck reminds me a lot of pioneer Amalia. You are doing the most powerful thing in the format, so your opponent is always forced to respect your combo. It gives you a lot of room to craft a gameplan and apply it π«‘

Ken Yukuhiro
Congratulations to the 2025 Player of the Year, Ken Yukuhiro!
He received the Kai Budde Player of the Year trophy at a ceremony on Thursday in Richmond, ahead of #PTECL.
Congratulations again, Ken!
If you are interested in neoform, I highly recommend this article by Frowningtable btw.
It's the perfect mix of an old-school report and a theory article! It really helped me in my tournament preparation!

This is the SB plan I've used to 3-0 the constructed portion of the mocs!
I built this decklist for a field made of jeskai/esper blink, prowess and boros energy
I received a lot of questions about the ice-fang package, this should give you a good idea of when to bring it π
@fireshoes.bsky.social
I won Sunday afternoon's challenge with Boros Energy (Piegonti build)π
I picked the deck for the first time today after seeing my teammates LucasGiggs and NJ5030 respectively take down a super qualifier and a challenge
I'm running hot this week, 23-3 accross 3 challengesπ₯΅
@fireshoes.bsky.social
I finally got to play my first Standard games, with a fairly stock build of Simic Cub. I lost in top 4 to the mirror π«‘
I faced a lot of jeskai control, it's unclear if the matchup is actually bad. They have a lot of good answers, but their deck seem to have many issues
@fireshoes.bsky.social
Back to the mtgo streets with a decklist very similar to the one I ran in the mocs!
7-1 finish in a challenge, I died in the semis to energy, which proved to be a close matchup
This configuration is pretty good but it might need some changes for the broader metagame :)
@fireshoes.bsky.social
Some of the sol lands are incredibly bad, but you need them for consistency π¨βπ³

Duel commander trophy with this silly Creative Technique list I've built π§βπ¨π
The concept is to cast a 6 mana cascade spell on turn 4 by using at least 2 of your 27 sol lands. After cascading into technique/trickery, you'll try to cast most of your deck, just like in legacy!
@fireshoes.bsky.social
Thanks for the support π«Ά
12.01.2026 23:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's especially good against jeskai midrange. Ice-fang blocks Ragavan and lets you play a "flash game" with the help of dispute + consign. You sideboard into a bad version of simic ritual, which means that you blank some of their sideboard cards (like high noon).

Thanks! The package is good in blue matchup, where you want to rely less heavily on Allosaurus Rider/Summoner's pact.
If neoform gets countered after you sacrificed a ice-fang, it's not a big deal. So it's basically a "smaller" version of the combo that requires to commit less resources.
Merci !

There are a few people I would like to thank:
- Luca Fessia who spent a lot of time discussing every card in the cube π
- FrowningTable who has a very deep understanding of neoform (and found the ice-fang tech!) π¦
- @gaffeur.bsky.social who made paper cube possible (and delicious onion soup) π¨βπ³
I qualified for the World Championship π₯³
After a very rough cube draft, I managed to 3-0 constructed playing Neobrand π¦I had a pretty accurate read of the metagame and neoform looked like a really solid choice!
Thanks to the parisian cube community and team Grindstone π«Ά
@fireshoes.bsky.social
I'm super excited to compete in the mocs in a few days!
I feel good about my modern deck choice and I'm confident in my abilitity to draft this version of the vintage cube π
I received my mtgo account data: I've played 3,200 games on MTGO every year for the past six years!
Lowest is probably a threat that snowballs and doesn't require a good manabase to be cast on curve. My pick would be Otharri.
Highest could be something like timetwister, that some less experienced players would play in the wrong deck but has a high ceiling in the hands of the best players.
For 2026 I'd like to set up goals that are mostly not result-oriented. Don't get me wrong, I love reaching new goals. But it's healthier to just enjoy the process :)
- continue the podcast
- meet more ppl to work with
- find time for some real MTG breaks
- play more limited
- improve paper skills!
2025 has been a great year for me magic-wise:
- recorded 24 podcast episodes with my friend Thomas Mechin
- helped create a Discord server for competitive french-speaking players
- finished first in the EUL FR ranking
- joined Grindstone
- did well with a brew at a GP
- qualified to the PT and MOCS
Thank you :) !
