Overall I can't connect to Mend as much as Eviscerate, but I don't think that's a fair comparison to make. I don't think I've ever related to an album so deeply as Eviscerate, which spoke to me on every level: physical, emotional, spiritual, and political.

Future listens could change this though

those feelings that are presented by Eviscerate instead of being controlled like them. Eviscerate is our war with demons our, both inner and outer. Mend is the rebuilding after said war ends.

Mend does a very good job at what it sets out to do though, which is to thematically contrast Eviscerate. Where the previous album is almost depressing both musically and lyrically, Mend is uplifting and inspiring. A hint of Eviscerate is still there, but Mend feels like it's trying to overcome

Mixed thoughts on the new Eidola album. It's very good, but I was hoping for more Eviscerate sound wise, and this feels more like a blend of The Architect and Degeneraterra. The collaborative tracks were a nice surprise as well.
