Gov. Ivey: Please Grant Clemency to Charles "Sonny" Burton Who Faces Execution Despite Not Having Killed Anyone The State of Alabama wants to execute Charles "Sonny" Burton for capital murder. But Sonny never killed anyone. The identity of the shooter, Derrick DeBruce, was never in dispute. However, Alabama ...

Time is running out to save the life of Sonny Burton, an Alabama man who didn’t kill anyone.

Tell Governor Ivey to commute his sentence before his scheduled execution date on March 12.

Brits urged to drive less as pump prices 'head for RECORD highs' Saudi Arabia - the biggest producer in the region - is said to be curbing output at two major oilfields, although the extent of the reduction is not clear.

This is where our global utopia crashes into laser-guided

Britons will all feel the impact of the war with Iran, not just those who have moved to Dubai expecting peace and security

n 2013, when I was at university, I used to Facebook-_ message friends who were lounging by private pools in
Tehran and Tel Aviv while studying abroad. Back home
it had become something of a status symbol to teach yourself Russian, largely because the nightlife in Moscow was so good: dark, sexy and glamorous. In the little English pubs we frequented, friends would airily report on what was happening on the Russian social media site VK, or China's WeChat. Life was good, goods were cheap and the world belonged to us.
I feel rather uncomfortable thinking of it now. There's something a bit jazz age about the whole thing: gilded youth toasting their own cosmopolitanism and sophistication while the world trundled quietly towards chaos. There were signs, obviously. In 2014 Russia invaded the eastern Donbas region of Ukraine. But, still, the nightlife in Moscow was fantastic.

Whose global Utopia? The news that the party is over and things are going to get especially miserable is IMO going to come as a major surprise for millions of people who did not get invites to the festivities in the first place.

If you’re reading this and you’re scared, that’s understandable. And I can’t tell you that you’ll be able to pass as cis. But just to give you a single data point, I didn’t come out at work until I was 34. You can be alright, and you do have a future. People know what trans people are. It’s fine.

Philosophy Tube β€” How To Ban Conversion Therapy A complete history of conversion therapy from 1849-now, when it is STILL legal and STILL happening.

Labour’s healthcare bans are shameful and have already harmed British kids. Wes Streeting’s normalisation of conversion therapy is a stain on the country. Every NHS doctor and admin who went along with this has undermined public confidence in the profession.

Transgender laird takes to the battlements over tourist lodge
The Daily Telegraph9 Mar 2026By Telegraph Reporter

Samantha Kane, also known as Lady Carbisdale
A TRANSGENDER laird is locked in a planning row with a neighbour over plans for a new holiday let in the Scottish Highlands.

Samantha Kane, who became the self-styled Lady Carbisdale after buying Carbisdale Castle near Ardgay in 2022, has objected to neighbour Rupert Haig-thomas’s plans to build a lodge for tourists.

Under the proposals, the lodge would include three bedrooms, a kitchen-diner, a snug sitting room, a living room, a boot room, and several bathrooms.

But Kane said the plans were not suitable for the area, which is surrounded by ancient forest and is in an area of outstanding beauty.

Cardisdale Castle β€œshould be cherished and protected”, Kane said, telling The Telegraph: β€œI want to preserve it for future generations, I don’t want anything to harm the castle.

β€œIt is a complete disregard for the area and history of the land.”

In planning documents, Kane said the plans would β€œdevastate the castle”, was β€œnot in keeping with the design” and would β€œinterfere with the aesthetic setting of Carbisdale Castle”. A second objection from Kane’s company, Carbisdale Castle Ltd, added: β€œThe lodge will be adverse to the historic listed building and it will negatively impact the setting and the nature and our business model here at Carbisdale Castle.

You would never know it, but the Editor's Code of Conduct says that someone's status as trans should only be mentioned if relevant to the story.

Anyway, here's the Telegraph today...

It's not a productive trend, but with every passing day I think I get more hung up on how massive the contrast was in 2024 and how easy the choice should've been for voters. And I get angrier and angrier about the people who muddied that contrast and the people who chose to vote for *this.*
