(I don't want to read your AI post anyway, of course. But I'm doubly not going to read it if it's 1500 boring-as-hell words long when 250 would do)

Even putting other issues aside (which you shouldn't) all these AI-written posts are *too damn long*. I guess by definition the people using it to generate posts instead of actually writing them don't know any better, but damn. If you insist on using AI, tell it to write shorter.

I can't quite do the #WorldBookDay ๐Ÿ“š meme as I don't have any photos of me as a child with a book! But I can tell you this 7-year-old had already read through most of his school library (and consequently taken by his mom to join the local community library, too. Thanks, mom ๐Ÿ˜Š)

This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

The creative industries are one of the UK's biggest and best exports, contributing more than $100 billion to the economy every year. Yet successive governments simply refuse to acknowledge this, as if it's unimportant. And now they want to sell us all down the river.

I'm enjoying this book well enough, but I'm 120pp in โ€“ย almost exactly 1/3 through โ€“ and so far a grand total of one (1) subject has been a woman (in one of the shortest chapters, I might add). Perhaps the back half will redress this imbalance. One can hopeโ€ฆ

The first week or so is always slow going, with time spent thinking through plot and characters, rather than churning out words. Still, considering it feels like Iโ€™ve barely begun and things are only beginning to come into focus, almost 6k isnโ€™t bad going #DogSitterDetective ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ”

The Fuse by @antonyjohnston.bsky.social and @justingreenwoodart.bsky.social.

A great police procedural, just set in the future on an advanced space station. A street-level crime drama thatโ€™s more Mass Effect than Law and Order.

Oh, so youโ€™re actually talking about a single line? You said paragraph, so I was looking for a whole graf that seemed different. Assuming youโ€™re talking about the โ€œpicked throughโ€ line, that does look a teensy bit more tightly set, but itโ€™s very subtle. It could just be to avoid hyphenation.

28.02.2026 08:38 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Obviously youโ€™re right that this does happen, but are you sure about it in this specific case? None of those look especially tightly set to me, and the final graf even has room to spare. Iโ€™d expect to see much tighter tracking and word spacing if theyโ€™d dropped in a correction.

This cyberpunk Metroidvania co-written by a Resident Evil veteran also wants to be an RPG with romance, and I went from "this looks cool" to "I need this right now" playing the Steam demo Altered Alma only takes a few minutes to turn into something very cool

"Jack is quippy but not grating, and the character interactions I've had have been a mix of sweet and serious. For a limited demo, I'm remarkably invested."
Great write-up of the @alteredalma.bsky.social demo on Steam:
