I can't quite do the #WorldBookDay 📚 meme as I don't have any photos of me as a child with a book! But I can tell you this 7-year-old had already read through most of his school library (and consequently taken by his mom to join the local community library, too. Thanks, mom 😊)

I'm enjoying this book well enough, but I'm 120pp in – almost exactly 1/3 through – and so far a grand total of one (1) subject has been a woman (in one of the shortest chapters, I might add). Perhaps the back half will redress this imbalance. One can hope…

The first week or so is always slow going, with time spent thinking through plot and characters, rather than churning out words. Still, considering it feels like I’ve barely begun and things are only beginning to come into focus, almost 6k isn’t bad going #DogSitterDetective 🐶🔍

Assuming you’re talking about the “picked through” line, that does look a teensy bit more tightly set, but it’s very subtle. It could just be to avoid hyphenation.

None of those look especially tightly set to me, and the final graf even has room to spare. I’d expect to see much tighter tracking and word spacing if they’d dropped in a correction.
