The cover of a comic book called The Fuse. It’s a red cover with bold white text.
“F is for…”
The Fuse by @antonyjohnston.bsky.social and @justingreenwoodart.bsky.social.
A great police procedural, just set in the future on an advanced space station. A street-level crime drama that’s more Mass Effect than Law and Order.

Oh, so you’re actually talking about a single line? You said paragraph, so I was looking for a whole graf that seemed different. Assuming you’re talking about the “picked through” line, that does look a teensy bit more tightly set, but it’s very subtle. It could just be to avoid hyphenation.

Obviously you’re right that this does happen, but are you sure about it in this specific case? None of those look especially tightly set to me, and the final graf even has room to spare. I’d expect to see much tighter tracking and word spacing if they’d dropped in a correction.

A poster drawn by me featuring the videogame versions of Camina Drummer and Chrisjen Avasarala in the new Telltale Games Expanse game series. The poster is divided by the orbits of the inner planets of the solar system (and Ceres), with each alternate segment switching between one of two backdrops. In one, we can see bodies and wreckage floating in space, with Jupiter in the background. Drummer stands in the foreground in her space suit. In the other, we can see the logo of the UN on a stone office wall above a desk and flag stand, with Avasarala in the foreground, looking at a UN video drone floating to her left. She is wearing a purple top with gold embroidery.
I did a poster to celebrate the SDCC announcement that Shohreh Agdashloo is joining Cara Gee in The Expanse: A Telltale Series! Available at the Premium Posters Hall in the convention centre. Can't wait to play this game.

I'd been going regularly since 2001. Almost 20 years, until covid brought that to a halt… and then all this happened. Nope

People not wanting to come is real. I used to visit the US 2-3 times every year, both for vacation and to attend comic-cons. I have good, longstanding friends there, and an audience for my work whom I used to love meeting. Absolutely zero chance of me visiting again until this shit gets fixed.

(I didn't actually like D&D that much, the rules always felt horribly clunky even when I was a kid, but the Jeff Easley covers of those old AD&D editions absolutely mesmerised me)

Antony's desktop, with a tiled image of the cover to the hardback edition of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Masters Guide from 1983, featuring a cloaked dungeon master opening a large set of doors to reveal treasure and monsters behind
Current desktop wallpaper. My desktop is set to randomly pull an image every 15 mins from a folder I maintain. Clearly this afternoon it's feeling old school 🎲

Of course. Why would you invest in soft power?
It just helps in the kind of warfare that:
a) Russia has shown it's actually good at;
b) Russia is waging on the West already;
c) The UK/NATO nuclear deterrent is useless in preventing;
d) Costs a fraction to fund compared to military hardware.
