These are by far the best fresh tortillas in the city. Chips and salsa are also great!

We are watching it now. Thanks for giving us something to add to our TV yule log rotation!

I'm stuck on the $20-30,000 architectural fees to draw up an ADU inside an existing building! If I tried to charge that here (Philly) I'd be booed out of town.

Then a by-right permit was pulled for a multifamily project and she started this lawsuit. (And introduced a bill to have the zoning changes back to single-family).

In this case, the "loophole" is that the councilwoman herself introduced a zoning change at council to change the zoning of this block from single-family to multifamily, and then council unanimously approved it.

As an architect, I was surprised to learn recently that a French drain (the drain around the perimeter of your basement that keeps it dry) is not named because it's from France, but because the guy who invented it was named Henry French.

It's how Curious George did it! Mess up a restaurant, then clean it up and be celebrated as a hero. Works every time (if you're a monkey followed by children).

But also, for many, a big part of their identity is believing that they are better off because they *deserve* to be, and the idea that we're all equally worthy of success goes against that core belief.

Very much this. I hear this a lot. (And it's b.s.)

I've been explicitly told that "any profession where more women are going into it than men is going downhill". Yuck.

When I was studying for my driver's license exam back in the early 1990s in PA, I was surprised to learn that it was (maybe still is?) legal to make a left on red from a one way street onto another one way street. I still can't bring myself to do it.

I didn't know this had a name. This happens in Philly, as well. Another version of this, very common here, is to make your left turn as the opposing light turns yellow (before yours is green) to avoid waiting for opposing traffic to clear. (Note: I do not do this myself.)

Loved hearing you. No hedging, no softening. Just the truth. Thank you!

This would be incredible.

Last game I went to, I exclaimed out loud about how bad the buns were. The texture was a cross between "stale" and "microwaved".

Hanover, PA?

I believe the side-by-side laundry is due to accessibility requirements.

I've met Rep Evans in person and he was a very warm and engaged guy. I wish him all the best.

Serious question, though, in light of the SEPTA funding issues--would transit-related zoning mean a big push at the state level to defund transit to keep density low?

A small thing, in the grand scheme of things, but I am really tired of his use of the word "levels".

And like everything else he says, this is easily shown to be untrue.

Not to mention drywall, steel, aluminum, insulation, appliances, etc., that all come from overseas (or Canada/Mexico) as well. We are not looking forward to the pain this will cause our clients.

I saw a billboard with this message in Northeast Philly, which is where a lot of T's Philly voters live.

@michelmartinnpr.bsky.social did great here. If it were me, my head would have exploded. More of this type of interview, please!!

I was there to see my daughter. What an amazing experience. And the enthusiasm and dedication of music educators in this city is inspiring.

I got one, too, and it said it was from EZPass.

I hated the beginning of this story, but I truly loved the ending!

It seems so easy. We know who they are, we know where they live, and we have proof of what they've done. Take their licencses and their cars!

This is how I feel, too. If someone wants to come out and admit a regret/mistake, especially publicly, that's brave. The other thing--that's more of a "you still don't get it" moment.

Not to mention, Feynman was 68 when the Challenger blew up! He wasn't some college freshman with no experience in anything.
