Our £20million Pride in Place Programme launches THURSDAY at Cardinal Hume Catholic School, 7pm - 8:30pm.

Join us to learn more about what the Pride in Place Programme means for our community and how you can get involved.

This means thousands of pounds of new funding to make sure pupils and their families get the best possible start to the school day. That's 687 children right here in Gateshead getting a free healthy breakfast to set them up ready to learn.

New homes, new jobs and investment in Gateshead are top priorities for me as your MP, so it was great to visit MGM and HUSK on the Team Valley today to talk about the new, innovative homes they’re building in Gateshead this year.

Keep an eye out for them in Beacon Lough in the next few months

Me and Ben have known each other as long either of us can remember. We grew up together. We went to Gateshead schools together. We’ve been mates for almost four decades.

Tonight we were both invited to Downing Street to celebrate the work we’d done on the Employment Rights Act. A special evening.

From April an additional 32,000 dads per year will be able to access Paternity Leave immediately.

That’s the difference a Labour Government makes.

❄️⚠️ Cold weather payments have been triggered here in Gateshead Central and Whickham.

To trigger the payments, the average temperature at a specified weather station must be recorded as, or forecast to be, 0°C or below for seven consecutive days.

✅ Today Labour is introducing new legislation to Parliament to get it done. ❌ Reform are voting against.

The verdict is in. Scrapping the two-child limit will make a huge impact on Labour's plan to tackle child poverty. In the North East alone 67,000 children will be helped. 3,400 children in Gateshead will be lifted out of poverty.
