I need some of those. It’s one of those Sundays where you just want to scream.

If you’re in your 60’s + without many close friends, you’re not broken. You’re probably exhausted from carrying everyone else’s emotional weight for decades. The absence of friendships isn’t a reflection of your ability to connect; it’s often evidence of how much you’ve given without receiving.

Worries and stress overtake.
Sedative to beckon slumber.
Wake well rested and
what do you see…
only those demons
waiting to follow me,
as they don’t just haunt,
they supervise.

Sleep keeps texting
me awake at 3am.
My brain says:
“Go back to sleep,
don’t reply.”

My mind is living in a version of time that no longer exists.
My body hasn’t learned what life already knows. It keeps trying to revolt.

Have no expectations
in particular.
Turn your fear
into courage,

understanding.

excite you.
There is beauty &
magic & poetry
in even the most
common of things.
Let them rock your world.

drowning in the waves
that toss and turn never
letting me breathe.
I need more peace,
a safe harbor.
I keep returning from
something to nothing
and don’t know
what will save me.

broken home.
Depression and
anxiety abuse
one another
in the kitchen,
Leaving the dishes
stacked like
bad decisions
and the sink sulking,
while it’s time for
