The Government are blindly walking into an EHRC/ECHR trap to kick the trans community for press support. And it may very well come back to haunt them.

If Bridget Phillipson approves the EHRC Code of Practice in the form it is being suggested it is being updated to, I will not vote Labour again.

I am hoping Govt lawyers are advising her it will be unlawful and will end up at Strasbourg if she does approve it.

Legally, there isn't the slightest basis to the complaint, even on the most extreme possible interpretation of the Supreme Court judgement. A shop floor is not a single sex space, regardless of whether they sell bras or not. This is just hatred and spite, unleashed.

Just today I asked a male (!!!!!!) shop assistant in Boots about maternity pads. This level of proposed segregation by sex is truly Victorian in its morality and moral panic.

Agree - the last Parliament that passed these regs made a poor judgement. I cannot see how the age blocking doesn’t just send tech savvy children to more harmful material on unregulated sites

For sure - I think she thinks she’s helping but it will not help trans children at all.

Although honestly most political parties need to accept blame for their part in creating the Online Safety Act - pretty sure the age blocking was a Theresa May policy. It’s a consensus shitshow
