I suspect the real reason Nigel Farage is getting so rattled by the racism allegations is that:
1) He knows he said all these things so can't properly deny them
2) He knows that he carried on saying them well into adulthood

A Labour government passed the Equality Act. A Labour government was in power when the Supreme Court interpreted it to not mean what ministers at the time were clear it was intended to mean. The Labour government response should have been to legislate to fix it. Not doing so was a cowardly betrayal.

Revealed: MPs rack up huge rent expenses while pushing through cuts to benefits
MPs are allowed to rent a second home, but while they are simultaneously cutting benefits for the vulnerable, the cost feels hard to swallow.
Senior MPs including Kemi Badenoch, Robert Jenrick and Darren Jones are claiming tens of thousands of pounds a year in taxpayer-funded rent expenses while either calling for or implementing benefit cuts on the poorest

This World AIDS Day, it is fantastic to see DHSC announce such a large and comprehensive funding package and HIV Action Plan. Eliminating new transmissions by 2030 will only be possible with proper action NOW - so this is a much needed step.

I personally want them to act like they have 1 term in Govt and do all they can to push the country in a progressive direction. Recent policy announcements havenβt felt that way.

I think there was plenty to agree with in the Budget, and I certainly donβt envy the choices Rachel Reeves has to make.

Hi Lizzi, thanks for this information. As an avid Parliamentary watcher I did know much of this, but Iβll never say no to more context.
My primary frustration here is there is a lack of ambition from the Government to try new things. Thereβs no reason they couldnβt try and press ahead with day one

A budget born of weakness, not of strength
Labour needs affluence to remake society. Yet it seems curiously uninterested in creating it.
This was a Budget born of political and intellectual weakness, not strength
Labour has to realise that moving the pieces on the board is not e enough. Affluence is essential for social democracy. And there isn't a plan to create it.
