you can use drive on ex moves to get resources back faster in some cases (like kimberly) but you hardly have to and it isn't costly
i realize i'm basically proposing v-triggers again but characters using the drive gauge for unique things is cool! i don't like that resources are so divorced from it
thinking about this more and i think this ties into the other thing i dislike about SF6 design which is the focus on *separate* resources to drive
denjin, fuha stocks, wind, spray cans, medals, drinks... it'd be so much more interesting if these more heavily involved the drive system
i think the bigger issues are that defensive mechanics with drive are much weaker and riskier than offensive ones, and few characters really feel like have unique drive mechanics or unique takes on universal drive mechanics
which makes for a game that's heavy on offense where characters feel samey
gonna be real i don't think people realize how much nerfing drive mechanics in sf6 would make for a much worse game
the back and forth and resource management with drive, and burnout, are some of the most interesting parts of the game. if drive mechanics are too weak that becomes less relevant
