๐ข New study: Impact of SEND provision on health & education outcomes using the ECHILD database (England).
Researchers used causal inference methods to explore whether additional support improves outcomes for children with high health needs. Results showed small reductions in unauthorised absences, but no clear effect on attainment or hospital use โ and families highlighted both benefits and challenges of accessing support.
The study calls for more experimental policy approaches and better data on SEND provision.
