We're on the same team in terms of class, I mean. The disparity is so wide that it's basically the billionaires vs. everyone else.

Also, a raging irrational hatred towards "blue hair and pronouns" - if they hated our oppressors as much as they hate pronouns, we might actually get somewhere. I think that's what really frustrates me. We're all on the same team, but half of us are shooting all the ammo in the wrong direction.

This is something I still struggle to understand every day. The same people who are afraid random thugs are going to break into their home also willingly handed the keys to the whole country over to an actual criminal who clearly had the worst of intentions. I can't wrap my head around it.

My grandpa thinks the government is shut down because the Democrats want to "give free food to illegals". I feel like I need to take a class on how to approach people who operate on talking points that have no basis in reality. Like, I don't even know where to begin with that.

A big reason simple right-wing rhetoric works so well ("The government is shutdown because the Democrats are evil!") is because Leftists have a hard time actually explaining what's going. This is probably the simplest/best explanation of the shutdown that I've seen and it's still 3 paragraphs long.

To put things into perspective, random DreamWorks slop usually gets a budget of about $80M. I hope they don't learn the wrong lessons from this, and instead choose to invest higher budgets into anime.
