We had something similarβlake front, about an acre of land bought for $50 in the 50s, cottage built by hand, but then grandparents died and passed it on to my aunt and uncle for everybodyβs use, and after some time they sold it for an RV instead :(

Summarise this document into bullet points. Now tell me how to understand bullet points. Translate bullet points into simple pictograms, now describe the pictograms in words of one syllable.
Now convert the inchoate noises I make in response to the pictograms into a masters thesis, honours level.

Top US Election Security Watchdog Forced to Stop Election Security Work
The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has frozen efforts to aid states in securing elections, according to an internal memo viewed by WIRED.
Last night, we broke the news that the top US election security watchdog has frozen all of its election security work and is reviewing everything it has done to help state and local officials secure their elections for the past eight years. https://wrd.cm/3QkfGh3

Itβs about not wanting vandalism and toilet parties and skipping out of class, I think. But the instinct is so far removed from my approach that I find the rationale hard to understand. Like, just talk to the folks who cause problems rather than proactively penalise and monitor every kid?

To be clear: my school absolutely lets kids go when they want. I donβt even want kids to ask me. Iβd prefer they just go. Do we end up with stuff like vandalism and little parties in the toilets? Yes. Policing bodily functions is worse.

Iβm a middle school teacher and I canβt fathom this policing of kidsβ bodies. Even if kids do misapply the right (not privilege) to go to the bathroom, mostly itβs just to sit there and get a break or chat. Sometimes everyone needs that. And what about diarrhea? And periods? And disabilities?
