And above all else, you gotta keep yourself from outrage fatigue. Keep a little distance from the news sometimes. Take a day break here or there where you don't look at the news or social media. Or you'll burn out.

Build your network. Friends, family, local groups. The government is no longer a reliable source of funding or support for people and projects near you. So we gotta build our own support. You could volunteer for an organization if you can. Shelter? Soup kitchen? Advocate group?
