smart lol. i have a lot blocked too, mostly following artists and writers but sometimes even they fall prey to the allure of the leakpost 💔

I need to find that side of the conversation because I feel like all I ever see over there are the dumbest takes of all time and wild speculation based on leaks rather than actual intelligent discussion on the official release lmao. I'm glad to hear it exists tho, gives me some hope lol

modulo is shaping up to be such a beautiful, timely story with an exciting and engaging new generation of characters but it's absolutely lost on this fandom because jjk fans still don't actually read their own manga 😑

Sukuna meets his gaze and smiles, soft, genuine. “Not when I have a beautiful future to fight /for/.”

“I’m still gonna fight him. I waited a thousand years for a worthy opponent to challenge me.”

“I suppose it’s comforting to know your centuries of solitude have not changed your battle spirit any. You won’t lose, though, right?”

A kaleidoscope of emotions flickers across the other man’s face before he finally slumps back in his seat with a resigned sigh. “Kenjaku?”

“Who else?”

“Of course.” He drags a hand down his face. “This is going to be such a nightmare to explain to Gojo-san.”

“He doesn’t have any family left,” Nanami muses, like he’s seriously considering it. Good.

“Well, that’s only partly true,” Sukuna adds. “The reason he’s strong enough to contain me is because he’s sort of my great-great-many-many-greats-great-grandnephew so like, he’d still be with his family.”

He’d always had a soft spot for children, but their lifestyle had never been well suited to raising any of their own. Not that Sukuna particularly wanted any, but he would move heaven and earth to make his lover smile.

“Sure, I’ll leave him in your care. You always wanted a brat, no?”

“What would you have happen to him?”

“I wouldn’t have his death on my conscience.”

“Shall we keep him?”

Nanami frowns. “Keep him?”

Sukuna shrugs. “Temporarily. I’ll get my own body back once I get the rest of my fingers.”

“And what happens to Itadori when you do?”

Well, the /plan/ had been to kill him after making him watch Sukuna kill everyone he ever loved, but now that Nanami was in the picture, that changed things.

“The rule was ‘no touching.’ I can look as much as I please, and I /do so/ please.”

“This is so many layers of /wrong/ I don’t even know where to begin,” he mutters.

“I promised I would find you again, did I not?”

“That is a child. You are wearing a teenager.”

Instead he lounges back in the seat, crossing his legs and leaning his elbow on the armrest as he openly admires his past lover’s current form.

The other man pinches the bridge of his nose. “Can you not ogle me like that with Itadori’s eyes?”

Sukuna slips into his vessel’s physical form, feeling the brat’s consciousness replace his in the innate domain. He flexes his fingers, itching to tear the fabric restricting his chest. A warning look from Nanami stays his hands.

“Uh…”

“No matter. I will explain the details later. For now I just need you to trust me that he cannot do anything to me in this room without risking his own life.”

“Ok,” the brat says slowly. “But if he tries any funny business I am taking my body back.”

He feels the weight of a Vow snake around his soul atop the one with the boy, and sees Nanami nod in satisfaction.

“Itadori-kun, it is safe to swap with him now.”

“H-how can you be sure?”

“Promises made between sorcerers are bound by cursed energy. Has Gojo-san not taught you about Vows yet?”

“/Fine/,” Sukuna sulks. He doesn’t want to risk that annoying sorcerer popping in uninvited and ruining his long-awaited reunion. “No harm will come to any body in this room and I will swear to return the brat’s body to him after we have concluded our discussion.”

Nanami doesn’t break eye contact with Sukuna. He’s probably bluffing. Telling the Six Eyes about his secret Vow with the boy would risk exposing his own sordid history. But how much does he even remember?

It’s so cute how that vein in his forehead still throbs when he’s debating killing Sukuna or kissing him senseless.

“I /will/ call Gojo-san and warn him about your little trick.”

“Shouldn’t we call Gojo-san anyway?” the brat squeaks.

“That’s not— Gods I did not miss that sense of humor,” he mutters. “Sukuna, assure Itadori-kun that we are only going to talk and that you will return his body to him with both of us unharmed.”

“What if I want to do more than just talk?” he teases.

Sukuna manifests a mouth on his vessel’s cheek and grins. “You know I can’t promise that.” He’d very much like to get his hands on him again.

Another sigh, heavier this time, as the brat yelps, “See?!”

“Nanami-san, he’ll kill you. He tries to kill everything he can get his hands, /my hands/ on.”

“I have reasonable suspicion to believe he means me no harm.” He sighs. “Sukuna, you can hear us, right? Can you assure Itadori-kun you will not lay a hand on me?”

“You want me to /what/?” His vessel’s voice cracks at the end in disbelief at the inevitable request.

“I would like to speak with Sukuna for a moment. Can you still switch with him at will?”

“No, I swore I wouldn’t do it again.”

“But you /are/ able?”

Nanami had been incredibly patient and understanding, more traits that had carried over through the centuries, as he promised Itadori it wasn’t his fault and asked how often Sukuna took control of his body like that. The fool had been rightfully confused. He didn’t remember the Vow.

After the initial chaos and embarrassment of Itadori coming back to himself in such a compromising position, he’d avoided looking Nanami in the eyes for several days. Which was fine. Sukuna didn’t really want him looking. That was /his/ right.

He could feel the Vow tightening around his soul again, ready to yank him back. He pressed another quick, crush of a kiss to Nanami’s lips before returning to his domain.

It took about a week.
