Seeing leadership in the school. My last principal would even step in to help serve lunches if the cafeteria was short staffed. Our new principal never leaves her office. Teachers want to feel like admin know and care what is going on is the school by being in the trenches with them. #edsi6321

Exactly! The answer for us in our classrooms is to build relationships and make learning relevant to students, so shouldn't administration be doing the same and modeling the expectation with teachers through professional development? #edsi6321

Showing you care for them outside of academics is important too. I would go to the JV games to watch my students play. They were always stoked and would say that people never come to the JV games, only varsity. I would also go to other events like the One Act Play to support those students as well.

The atmosphere and climate that administration creates can make all the difference. I prefer teaching high school, but I stayed on an elementary campus for many years because our principal was the best I had ever worked for and didn't want to leave that environment.
