It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Republicans are betting that by dividing Americans against each other, they can duck the blame for the health care apocalypse they created.

We need a simple, universal health care system that works for everyone.

We need Medicare for All.

There are FIVE ways to accumulate a billion dollars:

1) Profiting from a monopoly
2) Insider-trading
3) Political payoffs
4) Fraud
5) Inheritance

Billionaires are the result of a failed system.

Despots weaponize their opponents' compassion against them. Trump wants to use people's pain as extortion to get Democrats to fund his corruption. I didn't want the shutdown, but Democrats would be suckers to knowingly vote for a budget that destroys our democracy.

Remember: The concentration of wealth in the hands of a few isn't just bad for our economy. It's corrosive to our democracy.

When the wealthy and well-connected control our political system, regular people don't have a voice.

The result? The demagoguery and corruption we're seeing now.

Tax the rich.

81 years ago, FDR proposed a second Bill of Rights to guarantee every American the right to employment, healthcare, education, housing, and a living income. His words are as relevant now as they were then. Watch.

400,000 children. 400,000 so far. And 200,000 adults. This is evil.

On top of refusing to fully fund SNAP during the shutdown, the Trump regime has:

-Cut $1 billion from USDA programs supporting food banks
-Enacted tariffs that have caused food prices to rise
-Made the largest cut to SNAP in history
-Canceled the annual food security survey

Shameful.
