BRIGID DAWSON and the MOTHERS NETWORK are touring with the awesome UK band Modern Nature RIGHT NOW in the eastern US. I did not know this at all until Brigid informed me of this very recently, so I will be checking them out Tuesday. Please go out and see this very awesome double bill!

For the record, my first post-Oh Sees project was with Hannah & Raven of Grass Widow, I played with them for several months learning new material, but it kind of fizzled. We recorded some things but Hannah was doing Cold Beat and Raven was busy making furniture in her woodshop.

We never played the same thing 2x and wanted to find a singer to assist, we tried a couple of fearsome women (Valentine of Get Hustle, Sophia from LSDATSFG) but that never worked out though and then we stopped when my eldest was born.

Probably the usual, drug arrests and disorderly conduct but I was at MPP for Jerry and remember being shocked how little of a ‘scene’ it was with minimal vending and no Shakedown. Mainly just heads rolling into the lot, hanging and going in the show. The Dead had clearly outgrown the venue though.
