I briefly lived in an apartment where weird things happened, such as: my answering machine would activate & record just white noise without the phone having rung, houseplant leaves would tremble/sway in still air, sink tap in the bathroom would turn on full blast in the middle of the night 😬

Same here 😂. I just keep telling myself the joy is in the process and not the finished painting 🎨. I am following tutorials from both Sarah Burns and Ruth Wilshaw's Get Gouachey on YouTube and Patreon. Loving it so far.
