It’s 6:30am. The boy has snuck into my bed. I try to keep my eyes closed and remain sleepy despite his efforts to get my attention. Then… I feel fingers touch my nostril. “What are you putting in my nose?” A sweet gentle whisper replies, “Boogers… from my nose.”

and yes i am afraid of it. i fear it may have voodoo powers so i make sure to treat it nicely in hopes it will help the baby sleep.

In order to satiate my 3.5yr old’s need to show love to his baby sister at bedtime, as well as MY need to protect her sleep at all costs, he has said “goodnight” to THIS abomination in the bassinet for the last few nights while she dreams peacefully in her crib in her own room.

Mommy’s First Chicken Soup from Scratch

First time making my own stock and subsequent soup from scratch. A small feat for a 36 year old but whatever, an exciting milestone for me. I roasted 2 whole chickens this week (thanks Costco) and used the bones to make hella stock.

Sharing small wins was part of my plan right? Baby room is lookin adorbs and the formaldehyde stench has mostly dissipated from the bookshelf. Shout out to hubby for spending a good 2+ hours assembling it. He’s the real MVP. I spent 9 months making the baby but now things feel about even.
