It depends how far back in history you go but I do get the impression that some MPs are just drawbridge lifters.

I doubt it. Most will have bought a home in the EU and would sell up to return and buy in the UK. Others had a second home in the UK.

People who have come to the United Kingdom legally, played by the rules and made it their home do not need to “go home”. This is their home.
