I can't speak for F, but Silent Hill 2 is incredible, though I'm speaking from bias.

It checked all the boxes for me in terms of atmosphere, gameplay, story, and sound design/music.

If you manage to pick SH2 up on sale, it's a steal (from someone who doesn't regret getting it at full price).
