He didn’t EQ any of the solos or mix it well.

Absolutely and particularly if it’s a very young person
I’m singing in a concert tomorrow night and there’s one solo being sung by a young girl (maybe 13?)
While she misses a few notes here or there she sounds very good. And singing on a mic with a small orchestra is intimidating! She’ll be great.

I think I am gifted at encouragement

And I hear the band, how the drummer is doing fills, if the bass guitar is keeping rhythm, if the electric guitar has enough volume, what the keyboard player is filling with
And I wish I could just chill and enjoy

Interestingly I can if it’s classical music but jazz or pop or rock…nope

Went to an event tonight where everyone raved about the singer and I thought she was not good. At all.
And I wish sometimes I could listen to singing and just enjoy it

but I can’t I hear everything…..the phrasing, the intonation, the voice breaks, the lack of breath support
