PIERS: “You’re not gay?”
FUENTES: “No. But women are very difficult to be around.”
P: “Should they vote?”
F: “No.”
PIERS: “They should stay home?”
FUENTES: “Yeah.”
PIERS: “So you’re just a misogynistic dinosaur. Have you ever had sex?”
FUENTES: “No.”
PIERS: “Wow. Says the guy who never got laid.”

Rand Paul: "This is an insane policy. It's inconsistent. It's not war. It's not the way we've ever done this. If we can blow up a boat in the ocean, what about when they get to Miami & put it in a truck? Can you shoot a grenade launcher at the truck? No! We arrest people b/c sometimes we're wrong."

Disabled voters are challenging South Carolina's draconian ballot laws
In a state at war with the Voting Rights Act, helping more than five people vote by mail makes you a felon.
In South Carolina, helping more than five people vote by mail makes you a felon. Three voters, all currently living in nursing homes, are challenging the law.

I remember finally understanding cultural appropriation when someone put it in terms of refilling as hip fashion accessory.
And I now viscerally understand microaggressions as exhausting in a way I had not.
As well as why filling a feed with horrible incidents is less nice than folk may think.

When I looked through the comments on Ginger's insta and on Dear White Staffers insta I saw no indication of any respondents knowing or caring what blood libel is.

I was actually on site at the time, but did not go over and look, assuming it was a group photo from the earlier lobbying.
The amount of glee and approval makes me reluctant to interact with large portions of the people again.

Wait, I dropped a link in Discord earlier today. That one shows the "menu."
Times of Israel has an article this morning that was worse than I had heard yesterday but nowhere near as bad as seeing video: www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_ent...

Let me know whether this clearly shows the "menu" - I haven't watched this specific video.
379k followers and when I looked earlier I saw *no* comments noting blood libel.

It's pretty scary, honestly, to watch how much a flat out blood libel performance art was cheered and by whom.
I find myself wondering just how few people know what blood libel is.

If you always simply assume that this Administration is going to choose whatever is least good for the public, you'll probably be right.

The House is voting today on two bills that will put hard-fought reforms to DC’s justice system in the crosshairs.
But what happens in DC doesn’t stay here. When it’s DC today, it’s always America tomorrow. We can stop it right here, right now. #FreeDC

Trump administration announces dismantling of parts of Education Dept.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order in March seeking to close the department, but only Congress has the power to do that.
wapo.st/4oS9619
Folks have got to make some noise. Congress has the constitutional right to make or unmake agencies, not the executive branch.
And yet they're already talking about just exactly how they are dismantling the department of education.

I do not disagree with you about capitalism without guardrails and especially publicly traded corporations being legally bound to maximize shareholder value.
But hell, it's only a couple days ago Trump Administration undid the rule on airlines compensating passenger.

Alright I do owe you an apology. I have been extremely under slept and thought you said that research (not experience) indicated ranked choice voting worked well until politicians discovered loopholes and I was asking for the references.
Please elaborate on your experience.

And yet until we have some sort of ranked choice voting, we have a first past the post system and doing anything other than voting for what you consider the lesser of two evils gets you the greater of two evils.
Time and time again.

"Charlotte's Web" is a story about a tiny and nearly invisible creature using the only skills she has to protect a friend and neighbor who's about to be butchered to make the farmer some money, and he returns the favor by caring for her children. Just in case you needed the reminder.

The hysteria over Biden's pardons seems extra ridiculous now
Trump's abuse of the pardon power makes everything else look like child's play.
Among the news deluge this week were a handful of developments that help us to understand the chaos to come next year. Let’s start with Monday’s pardons.
